Disney’s Beach Club Resort

When I went to Walt Disney World back in January 2016 for the Agent Education Program, I was extremely excited to stay at one of my dream resorts, Disney’s Beach Club Resort. This resort is absolutely beautiful and is a Disney Fan’s Dream Resort for many different reasons. One thing that made me fall in love with this resort is the location of it. It is in the Epcot Area and is within walking distance to two Walt Disney World Parks, Epcot and Hollywood Studios!

This resort has 576 rooms: standard, garden, pool or water views. When I went in January I stayed in a Garden View Room and it was absolutely beautiful! Loved the location as well! All rooms have either 2 queen-sized beds and a day-bed or 1 king-sized bed and a day bed and a private balcony. Standard rooms can accommodate families up to 5 guests, plus 1 child under the age of 3 in a crib. There are also Club Level rooms available where you can have access to the Stone Harbor Club where you will receive personalized Concierge Service and a lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks, and evening wine, hors d’ourves, cordials and desserts. The club level is located on the 5th floor! Also available at the Beach Club Resort is suites in which you can have the choice of a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom suite. The 2 bedroom suite can accommodate up to 7 guests and 1 child under the age of 3 in a crib.

  • The pool located at The Beach Club Resort is absolutely beautiful and amazing! It’s called Stormalong Bay and it is a 3 acre water park compromised of 3 sand-bottomed pools with zero-depth entry, and a waterslide! (you must be a guest at either The Beach Club or the Yacht Club to enter and must use your magicband!)
  • A ‘quiet’ pool
  • 4 Whirlpools (hot tubs) in which 2 are located at Stormalong Bay!
  • Children’s playground
  • Lafferty Place Arcade
  • Water Cruises
  • Tennis (Yacht Club)
  • Boat rental (Yacht Club)
  • Fishing excursions (Yacht Club)
  • Beach Area
  • Volleyball
  • Table Games (near beach)
  • Jogging Trail
  • and more!!!

The one thing that I loved about this resort was that I could walk over to Hollywood Studios or I could walk over to Epcot without having to hop onto a bus to get there. That is one of the great things about this resort is the location. Also I loved how easy it was to just take a stroll around crescent lake in the morning or evening as well or how easy it was to get over to The Boardwalk Bakery for some good treats! No matter what you are looking for as far as a resort goes, this one is a good one to try! I highly recommend staying here especially during the Food & Wine Festival because then you can go to EPCOT as much as you would like to. While I was there in January, I would just walk over there just to get a snack and then head back to the resort. It was very nice to walk everywhere and it was a pleasure to stay there!

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue

We have done the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue two times now and each time we have fallen in love with it more! If you have a family that loves to eat, loves fried chicken, bbq ribs, salad and more then this is the dining experience for you! This dining is part of the dining plan, but takes 2 credits per person. My family and I always get the Deluxe Dining Plan just so we can enjoy some of these special dining shows together!

The Hoop-Dee-Doo is located at Fort Wilderness Campground and if you are at say are at Magic Kingdom, you can take a nice boat ride over to there. Just make sure that you allow yourself enough time to get there before the show.

There are 3 different seating options, but the two that are on the dining plan is Category 2 & Category 3. Here are where all the categories are located:

  • Category 1: Seating will be on the first floor closest to the stage.
  • Category 2: Seating will be on the first floor behind the Category 1 seating below the second floor balcony or the second floor balcony in the center.
  • Category 3: Seating will be on the left and right side of the second floor balcony.

For the food being served you will receive:

  • Dinner Salad in a bucket
  • Bucket of BBQ Ribs
  • Bucket of Fried Chicken
  • Bucket of Corn
  • Bucket of Baked Beans
  • Cornbread
  • Strawberry Shortcake (my fave!) to share

You will also get unlimited refills of soft drinks, coffee, milk, tea, and water. Beer, Wine & Sangria are included as well.

The show is fun to watch, and they will get you in on the fun of the show as well. We always enjoy this show and I highly recommend it to those who are looking to enjoy your food and still watch the show that they have for you! It’s fun to make memories with your family so make this as one of your experiences when you book a trip with me!

What to Pack in your Bag for the Parks

If you have children, you know the importance of having everything in your bag is the truth. As many times as I have traveled to Walt Disney World and other parks, I have a certain bag I always carry into the parks with me. I chose that bag because of the pattern of course, but also because it’s comfortable and can carry a lot in the bag. For years I carried my L.L. Bean Backpack but then I found my current Disney Bag while on vacation in 2011!

Here is a list of some important things to carry in your bag when you visit a Disney Park!

  • Sunscreen– I always carry a bottle with me or a can of the spray sunscreen and also carry with us the face sunscreen for Olivia because it’s less tears when it’s time to reapply. Plus we can do while standing in line for a ride.
  • Portable Battery Charger – I do recommend this for sure! I first took mine back in 2014 and then misplaced it and couldn’t find it until I came back from my recent trip in January. If you don’t have one, there are various phone charging stations throughout each park that you can use. Also bring your phone cord and cube so that if you are eating you can plug in too.
  • Extra Set of Clothes for Kids– I always pack in a gallon size ziploc bag an extra set of clothes for Olivia. That includes clean underwear as well because you never know when you will need them. Then if they do get dirty you can put the dirty clothes in the same bag that the clean clothes were in.
  • Ponchos – You don’t have to get the ponchos from the parks or resorts, but getting any kind of poncho will do. We found several at our local Dollar General Store, Big Lots and even the Walmart near Disney for a very decent price. The one thing that I love about the Disney Park Ponchos is that if you end up ripping it while on your trip, they will replace it.
  • Camera & Batteries – Make sure to charge up the camera and extra batteries before you go into the parks. I always make sure I have at least 1 extra battery for my good camera fully charged in case one dies.
  • Sunglasses & Hats – I always make sure that I have my sunglasses with me and I always pack a hat for each person who goes so that we can use them in the afternoons.
  • Water Bottles – I have a Camelbak that I use while I go to the parks. I can fill them up at a restaurant or go to a restaurant and ask for a free cup of water and fill it up that way. I have one for every person in the family.
  • Extra Ziploc Bags – Bring with you enough ziploc bags I recommend Gallon Size ones so you can put your keys, and personal items into them if you go on a water ride such as Splash Mountain and Kali River Rapids. I put my big DSLR into two of them and the accessories too.
  • ID, Cash & Credit Cards – If you are staying in a Disney Resort, then you will get MagicBands so that you can charge items and souvenirs on your MagicBand compared to breaking out your credit card. Make sure you do have your ID with you for alcoholic drinks and to show if you charge something. And if you want to carry cash with you please take that along with you.
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Autograph Books & Pens – Don’t leave your autograph books & pens in the room. Carry them in the bag with you.
  • Medications – This is important that you bring medications with you.
  • Snacks – Bring with you snacks for the kids or even for you. I know that we bring several in for Olivia and she enjoys them while either on the bus, waiting for a ride or just when she is complaining she’s hungry and it’s not time for our meal.
  • MagicBands – must not leave without these! These are your key to get into your room, for your dining plan, your tickets to get into the parks and more.

I’m sure there are more things that I always make sure we have but these are some of the important things we always carry with us! Message me to book your trip to Walt Disney World or Disneyland!
